However, with the introduction of electric vehicles in China, sales of Japanese brands suffered a significant decline last year for the first time in 15 years. Sales of Honda and Yamaha dropped by 20% and 13% respectively, while sales of China's Yadi electric vehicles bucked the trend and increased by 36%, becoming the first Chinese electric vehicle brand to have annual sales exceeding 100,000 units in Vietnam.
